DJI officially announced the new DJI RS 3 Mini gimbal, a lightweight single-handed gimbal stabilizer designed expressly for mirrorless cameras.

The DJI RS 3 Mini gimbal is compatible with most mainstream cameras and has a tested payload of 4.4 lbs., making it perfect for fast-paced cinematography. Weighing only 1.9 lb, the RS 3 Mini offers multiple control options, including a 1.4″ OLED touchscreen, onboard buttons, and the Ronin app. The RS 3 Mini can capture smooth video for up to 10 hours thanks to the built-in 2450mAh battery and is supported using the detachable extended grip/tripod.

DJI RS 3 Mini weighs only 795 g (1.75 lbs) in Portrait mode, approximately 50% lighter than RS 3 Pro and 40% lighter than RS 3. It weighs only 850 g (1.8 lbs) when shooting with the horizontal plate. Additionally, a concentrated center of balance provides a more stable and ergonomic hand-held experience.

The gimbal can be switched between horizontal and vertical shooting without additional accessories. Users can control the gimbal movement, shutter, recording, and camera focus using the onboard buttons.

The RS 3 Mini is the newest addition to the RS 3 and RS 3 Pro lineup. It is simply a compact version of the RS 3 and comes with many of the tech and features like AutoTune, Follow Mode, and automatic axis lock. It will have a smaller payload of 4.4 lbs. as opposed to the 6.6 lbs. that the RS3 can hold. The 4.4 lb.-payload is exceptional, considering the gimbal only weighs 850 grams.
