The new Tamron SP 24-70mm f/2.8 DI VC USD G2 lens is ready and it will be announced in the next several days. The new version will be a replacement for the current 24-70mm f/2.8 model (Currently $200 Mail-In Rebate) which was announced in 2012.

Other detailed info is still unknown, but this lens is expected to be cheaper than the Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 Art lens.

Sigma, Tokina and Nikon already updated their 24-70mm f/2.8 lenses, so it will not be a surprise for photo enthusiasts that Tamron will introduce a new 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC USD G2 lens.
