Canon EOS R1

The EOS R1 is engineered for sports photographers, wildlife shooters, news reporters, and photojournalists who cannot afford to miss a shot. With the fastest processing power in EOS history and the most persistent subject tracking and detection, the R1 ensures that your subject remains in sharp focus, no matter how quickly they move.

This camera also boasts the operability, connectivity, and networking features that professional shooters need, including a robust, weather-sealed design with an integrated vertical grip, Wi-Fi 6E/Wi-Fi 6 support, and a 2.5Gbade-T wired LAN.

Built for speed, the EOS R1 offers an impressive 40 fps continuous shooting rate with an electronic shutter, promoting blackout-free viewing and significantly reducing rolling shutter distortion. The R1 employs a full-frame 24.2MP back-illuminated stacked CMOS sensor, providing up to ISO 102400 sensitivity and utilizing neural network noise reduction for high clarity and sharpness. Additionally, the new Pre-Continuous Shooting mode buffers up to 20 frames before the shutter is fully pressed, ensuring you never miss a crucial moment.

Equipped with the most powerful processor in EOS history, the R1 features DIGIC Accelerator processing paired with the proven DIGIC X and the stacked sensor design. This combination allows for incredibly fast readout speeds and instant image analysis and AE/AF detection. The DIGIC Accelerator enhances the R1’s autofocus performance, adding refined subject detection and tracking capabilities. The Dual Pixel Intelligent AF system, a cross-type AF system, is designed to lock onto moving subjects with an Action Priority setting and improved Eye Control AF.

Despite its strength in capturing stills, the EOS R1 also excels in video capabilities and supports an integrated workflow with Cinema EOS shooters. The R1 can record up to 6K 60p raw video or 4K 60p MP4 video using a 6K oversampling area with 10-bit 4:2:2 sampling. Proxy recording is possible with split saving to separate memory cards, and there are various in-camera custom picture profiles, including Canon Log2, 3, PQ, and HLG.

Canon EOS R5 Mark II

The EOS R5 Mark II is built for versatility, making it suitable for a wide range of creators. Its resolution is ideal for landscape photography, while its upgraded AF and multimedia tools make it perfect for portrait and wedding shooters. The improved shooting speeds, faster processing, and refined AF also make it well-suited for wildlife and sports photography. As a true hybrid mirrorless camera, it boasts excellent video capabilities.

The EOS R5 Mark II, not traditionally known for sports and wildlife photography, now excels in these areas thanks to its enhanced speed and autofocusing performance. Drawing from the flagship R1’s technology and using a higher resolution sensor, the R5 Mark II performs exceptionally well in fast-paced shooting scenarios due to its upgraded processing and stacked sensor design.

One of the main features of the EOS R5 Mark II is its high-resolution 45MP full-frame sensor. Upgraded from its predecessor, this sensor has a back-illuminated stacked design that offers both high-speed readout and improved image quality and clarity. With sensitivity up to ISO 51200 for low-light shooting and Neural Network Noise Reduction to keep images clean and vivid, this sensor also supports In-Camera Upscaling to produce 179MP stills and suppresses flicker when photographing under fluorescents and LEDs.

Despite being a high-resolution camera, the R5 Mark II is also impressively quick, capable of shooting up to 30 fps using an electronic shutter and featuring Canon’s Pre-Continuous Shooting mode, which buffers up to 15 frames before the shutter is fully pressed, ensuring you capture every fleeting moment. The new stacked sensor design and DIGIC Accelerator processing provide fast readout speeds and instant image analysis and AE/AF detection. The DIGIC Accelerator significantly enhances the R5 Mark II’s autofocus performance, adding refined subject detection and tracking capabilities.

As a true hybrid camera, the R5 Mark II excels in video recording, leveraging its high-resolution sensor to produce up to 8K 60p raw video and a new 4K SRAW recording mode for easier file handling. Recording times up to 120 minutes are possible at 4K 60p settings and below, or with an optional grip, larger recording formats or longer recording times are achievable. Proxy recording is possible with split saving to separate memory cards, and various in-camera custom picture profiles, including Canon Log2, 3, PQ, and HLG, are available.
