With its 1x/1:1 macro capability and great general purpose focal length, subjects abound for this lens. One of the best features of this lens is the wallet impact at checkout – light. Light also aptly describes the lens itself. The image quality delivered by this lens is quite good and it is not hard to justify the addition of this lens to the kit.

Entry level and amateur photographers are primarily targeted by this lens, but the Canon EF-S 35mm f/2.8 Macro IS STM Lens, for the reasons listed above, is going to be found in many pro kits as well.
